"California" (1997)
Majima's main medium is video. However, he also uses photography, sculpture, and watercolor to reveal the gaps between language, meaning, and visuals in humorous and elegant ways.
His video works include:

short videos of jokes, and a long video work,"Japanese Modern Art / The Cheerful Country (1995)," which tells the story of the dawn of Japanese western-style art based on a detailed script in a disjointed movie style. He constructs fiction with reality which only exists in details.

"California (1997)," which is a story of Vikings, is shown at this exhibition. In his sculpture series, "Sausage in Batter Series (1993-)," he fried reindeer and Venus Di Milo models covered with batter.
