Super heroes Steven Bachelder
at Contemporary Art Factory
Steven Bachelder
Born in San Diego, USA in 1961
Lives in Stockholm
"Vicarious qualities through incremental repetition or Super heroes" (1996-)
Bachelder is known for his series of humorous projects to juxtapose real and artificial nature (although both are considered "natural" today). In "Cherry Tree (1994-)," he attached artificial branches and flowers to a real tree. In "Siberian Huskies (1996)," he made realistic-looking Siberian Huskies with plastic models covered with fur. His other projects remind us of the simple pleasures of childhood.
Those include:

"Extra Vehiculars (1996)," in which he projects toys on a big screen and takes the audience into the world of toys

"Vicarious Qualities Through Incremental Repetition Or Super Heroes (1997-)," in which the artist prepares the basecamp and provides toy weapons and Spiderman costumes for children to become heros to defeat art people.
