Exhibition Curator

Toshio Shimizu
Born in 1953. Art critic and independent curator. After living in North Africa, he studied art history and museum studies at École de Louvre. After working as a curator at Tokyo Metropolitan Teien Art Museum and the artistic director of Art Tower Mito, Contemporary Art Center, Shimizu became an independent art critic and curator. He actively introduces French, Asian, and African contemporary artists to Japan. Recent exhibitions curated by Shimizu include: "Africa, Africa" at Tobu Museum in 1998, and "Shoot at the Chaos" at Spiral Garden in 1998. Shimizu is the curator of "Paris en Création."

Coordinator in Paris

Olivier Reneau
Born in 1968. Art critic and independent curator. After studying electric engineering, he studied at the curatorial program of Magasin - Centre National d'Art Contemporain en Grenoble. Reneau's focus has been 90's artists and he is actively involved in art criticism and curating exhibitions. After working as an editor for the art section of Technikar, he now writes for Beaux-Arts Magazine as well. Reneau has a strong interest in the Japanese art scene and introduces Japanese artists such as Tadashi Kawamata and Kenji Yanobe in France. He is the coordinator of "Paris en Création" in Paris.
